Rapid Weight Loss Techniques Explained

by: Julian Kane

Other than physical appearance weight affects a person in many ways. This could be the overall quality of life, self-esteem, depression, associated health risks and physical in-capabilities.

There are a lot of positive changes once a person experiences weight loss and this is the reason why a lot of people are searching for a weight loss technique that will surely trim down the fat and help them get a super slim head turner body.

The first thing that an over weight person should do is seek a doctor to recommend the best weight loss regimen. This will be done after a full physical examination, which leads to the determination of proper weight loss technique. And to lose weight fast and effectively four aspects of life should be changed: what to eat, how to eat, behavior and activity level.

Here are fast tips that can change an over weight person's life:

First: Fast weight loss is composed of multiple techniques that consists of mindset, exercise, and in other cases, dietary supplements. Begin by learning a diet food plan that you can easily be accustomed to. Incorporate an exercise plan that allows even at least fifteen minutes a day like brisk walking running or swimming.

Second: Set realistic goals. The ability to focus and have proper mindset enables someone on a diet to quickly lose those extra pounds. With discipline and proper mind set, a dieter will never be discouraged and lose focus.

Third: Listen as the body speaks. Each and everyone's body metabolism reacts differently to different fast weight loss programs and plans. Try substituting one program for another to compensate the body's reaction. Exercise program must be suitable to one's body, as others are not able to exercise as rigorously as others can. If walking is all that can be done, then walk for this is proven the best exercise. Muscles burn more calories than fats so it's also best to put on a little muscle and looking good too.

Fourth: Eat more fiber as it makes a person feel full sooner and it stays in the tummy longer, slowing down the rate of digestion. A single serving of whole grain bread moves fat through the digestive system faster. Grains turn into blood sugar that spikes the body's insulin level. Thus, making the body more energized and ready to tell the body when it should stop burning fats or start storing.

Fifth: Keep away from fried foods especially deep fried as this contains a great amount of fat. Although fish and chicken appear leaner than beef, this white meat can contain more fat than when beef is fried. It is recommended for those on strict diet to opt for grilled food as this does not have or contain less amount of fat after the food is cooked.

Sixth: Lots of fluid. Drinking at least six to eight glasses of water a day keeps the body refreshed and hydrated. Since weight loss depends on how the body eliminates body wastes, the body must stay hydrated.

Veg It Up

by: Nick Vassilev

We all know that we need to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables. At the very least, we should be eating five servings every day of fruit and vegetables - if not more (each serving size should be the size of your fist.). And canned stuff, for the most part, just won't do. Fresh or frozen is the way to go with fruit and vegetables.

The benefits of getting more vegetables in your diet are many. They contain a large amount of fibre and fill you up, so you reduce your desire to consume more high-calories foods than you really need to. They contain vitamins, trace elements and antioxidants that are hard to get from other sources, and some vegetables may have cancer-fighting properties.

The one exception to the "fresh or frozen" rule is tomatoes. Tomatoes are a rich source of the cancer-fighting antioxidant lycopene. Lycopene is made more bio-available by cooking, so tinned tomatoes still have plenty of this property. Even tomato sauce and tomato puree contain lycopene. But tinned tomatoes are better and are less likely to have hidden sugars in them and they haven't been quite so processed.

Soups, salads and smoothies are the easiest way to get all your vegetables (or fruit, in the case of smoothies) in one go. For a good basic soup, start with fried onions (that's one vegetable) then tossi in whatever other vegetables you can find - potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, pumpkin, spinach, parsnip, beans... even lettuce (but not eggplant). Boil it, add a splash of vinegar and salt, mash or blend it, then serve topped with grated cheese - it couldn't be easier! Salads are simple - and they don't even need to contain lettuce.

But for many busy people, getting more fruit and vegetables into your diet can be hard. If you're in a rush, it's easy to fall back on good old standbys like macaroni cheese, scrambled eggs or spaghetti bolognaise if you're having to prepare a meal and you can't think of anything or just don't feel like soups or salads. This is where you need to have some quick and simple ways to "veg it up" and add veggies into these good old favourites.

To be able to add more vegetables to basic staples, then you will need to make sure your pantry, fridge and freezer and well stocked. Frozen vegetables are great - they don't go off and because they are frozen quickly as soon as possible after harvest, many of the vitamins and antioxidants are preserved, as they do not have time to break down. Good frozen vegetables include peas, sweet corn and green beans, but these days, you can find a huge range of frozen vegetable mixtures. And don't forget frozen fruits, especially berries! Of course, if you can grow your own vegetables, this is even better. Staples that should always be on hand from the vegetable department include potatoes, onions and carrots, plus a green vegetable or two.

Let's take some basic favourite meals and see how they can easily have vegetables added in...

Lasagne: If you're cooking the mince from scratch, add some onion and garlic before browning the meat. Throw in a tin of tomatoes (but you're probably doing this anyway). You can also add capsicum (bell pepper), fresh oregano, spring onions or zucchini (courgette) to the meat mix. The cheese sauce can also have onion added to it if you haven't added this already. And you can even leave the lasagne out of lasagne and substitute thin slices of potato (leave the skin on and boil first) or slices of raw zucchini. If you substitute fried eggplant for the lasagne and top the finished dish with natural yoghurt, you have made moussaka.

Macaroni cheese: While the macaroni is boiling, add a few vegetables into the pot to cook alongside them. Suitable vegetables include green beans, peas, diced carrots or even spinach and silver beet (Swiss chard). Add onion to the cheese sauce. After all the cooking is done, sprinkle chopped raw tomatoes, parsley, spring onion and garlic over the top.

Scrambled eggs: This can easily be transformed into a vegetable-rich Spanish omelette (sort of). Fry onions, tomato, zucchini, celery, green beans, herbs and garlic in the pan before adding the eggs and salt. Top with grated cheese and black pepper.

And for dessert....

Custard: Add chopped raw fruit into the cooked custard. Bananas and apples are great, but berries, oranges and fresh apricots are lovely, too.

Spotted dick: Instead (or as well as) using dried fruit like raisins or currants, add frozen berries. Diced apple or rhubarb also works well.

Bread and butter pudding: layer fruit with the bread. Blackcurrants are especially delicious, as are apples, pears and apricots.

juicy juice

Make Fresh Juice With Juiceman Jr At Home

by: Drew Chan

If you can make a choice between bottled juice and fresh juice, which one would you pick? For me, it would be always the fresh juice. A lot of people would think that it is time-consuming to make yourself a cup of just produced delicious juice. If you have a Juiceman Jr. Juicer, everything would become easier. And this device can make juicing an enjoyable and no sweat process.

Whenever you want to have fresh juice, the junior model is one of the most convenient tools you can rely on. If you are an experienced juicer user, you may ever hear the previous famous model of Juiceman II. Actually both of model II and junior model are using centrifugal technology. Centrifugal juicer is the most common seen type in the stores. Another common type is masticating juicers. Each of them has its own advantages. Usually centrifugal juicers feature a higher speed with a stainless steel spinning basket. The juicing process of centrifugal juicers is to place the fruit or vegetables down the chute first, and then let them spin against the basket wall. After which, the centrifugal forces will separate the juice away from the pulp. Finally the automatic pulp ejection system will eject the pulp automatically and the juice just flows into the bowl.

Actually Juiceman Jr. Juicer combines many convenient features. Firstly it can separate and eject pulp automatically, which save you a lot of time when you need to make a lot of juice. Besides, it has a wide feed chute as well, which can store much more juice. Actually it can squeeze the whole apple to make juice without cutting it up, which you might already see in the advertisement. In addition, Juiceman Jr. Juicer is small in size and takes up little room in your cupboards.

All the Juiceman series are excellent juice extractors. You can choose the one you like based on your needs. If you are a single and consume little juice daily, the junior model is the best choice. It is only with a motor of 440 watts. If you want to buy a juicer for the whole family, you’d better choose a bigger one. No problem you can always find the one suit you in Juiceman series.

Consuming fresh juice on daily basis can benefit people greatly. Now more and more people are beginning to make it a try. Juiceman Jr. Juicer is a not bad start if you are a new beginner and have no idea where to start. Compared with other models available in the store, it is excellent in performance and moderate at cost. Actually I have ever tried a few juicer models in the past years. Some models simply disappointed me and I had to decide to return them back. But this junior model convinces me at the first sight that it will do a good job for me. As a matter of fact, it wins my trust by its excellent performance later. I love fresh juice and I love Juiceman Jr. Juicer as well.

The Secret to Growing Plants

by: Chris Meagher

For many people, growing plants or gardening, is often relegated to the too hard basket. Indeed, many have an unfounded belief that they are "no good" at gardening. Similarly, there are some that believe that, rather than a "green thumb" - that they have a "black thumb".

This sort of thinking has generally been brought about, because of the rare times they have tried to plant something, with no training, it has almost immediately turned up it's toes.

Rightly so, too!

If you knew nothing about concreting, would you expect your first raw attempt to look like a runway? Of course not. Not without someone showing you how to do it, first.

So, why should gardening be any different?

Is it because you can buy plants in the supermarket, therefore giving everyone the immediate license to be an instant gardener?

You can buy engine oil in the supermarket, but this does not automatically make you a mechanic, just because you bought some oil.

Would you like to know the secret to growing plants?

Let me tell you - The Secret to Growing Plants is, that, there is no secret.

Or maybe, The Secret to Growing Plants is, that you have to learn about it first. Goodness! What a concept!

Just think - all that money I have just saved you from spending on those nefarious "Gardening Secrets" books and the like.

I have some great news for you.

It's Easy.

Really.

Easy.

Apart from the fact that you do have to actually learn something about it first, gardening is VERY forgiving. If you make a mistake after having planted something, it will NOT die overnight. A plant will continue trying to grow, regardless of what may assail it from your misguided ministrations. If ultimately, things are so drastically wrong, that a plant just cannot grow, for any one of a myriad of reasons (but more likely because you forgot to water it, tsk,tsk), you still have DAYS to do something about it before, ultimately, the poor thing carks it.

First however, it will TELL you something is wrong. It will start to wilt, it will not look good, it will probably start turning yellow, leaves may fall from it. The greatest plant doctor skill you already possess, is observation. Difficult, this gardening stuff - yes, you must return to the bloody thing after you have planted it - and LOOK at it. Does it look like it did the day before? Don't fiddle with it, just observe.

If it's not looking too flash, return to the site you found this article and find out why. Just maybe, go to a plant nusery and ask someone. Gardeners are generous with their help.

If you were concreting your driveway, you would have about an hour to fix things, before you no longer can and must then call in a bulldozer.

If you have you obtained your mechanics license through buying engine oil at the supermarket, filled the radiator with oil and the engine with coolant, not only will this little mistake become quickly apparent, but the is no way back - best look for another car.

With plants, you can say "Hmm, this doesn't seem to be working, I'll try it another way" - AND, you have still got time to do so. But first you find out something about the situation.

Here are a few immediate things it could be:

* Not enough water;

* Too much water;

* Planted too deep;

* Not deep enough;

* An air pocket under the roots;

Here are some situations that may take weeks to show adverse effects:

* The wrong time of the year;

* The wrong climate;

* Too much sun;

* Not enough sun.

All of these problems are pretty easily remedied and generally, plants suffer no long term damage from these situations. Provided - you DO something about it.

If you are new to the whole gardening thingo, remember this, you cannot just sling a plant into the ground and forget about it. A plant is a living thing, just because it takes a little longer to actually die than most things, does not mean you don't have to look after it. However, most gardening (as in looking after plants), relies more on common sense than anything else. Throw in a fair amount of patience and learning through observation, and you are pretty well on your way to learning the secret to growing plants.

did you know.......????

Did you know that you are not supposed to seperate the egg whites and the yokes? For some reason, many people think that it's heatlhier to eat the whites and yokes seperately, but that's actually what causes the cholesterol problems!  The whites and yokes actually counteract and cancel out the bad stuff in each other when eaten together---therefore being healthier for you!

You see, God made the egg the way it is for a reason!!!!!!
